CafeJobNet is committed to transparency and respecting your fundamental data privacy rights. Whether you reside in Puerto Rico, the United States, the European Economic Area, or anywhere else in the world, you have the right to request the complete erasure of personal data we maintain about you.

This policy fulfills our legal compliance obligations and platform standards, including:

• Meta (Facebook) Developer Platform Terms (Section 4.a): Mandating clear, accessible, and user-friendly User Data Deletion Instructions.
• Google Play Store Data Safety & Account Deletion Policy: Guaranteeing web-based and in-app self-service mechanisms to permanently delete user accounts and data.
• General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 17: The "Right to Erasure" (also known as the "Right to be Forgotten").
• California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA): The statutory right of consumers to request deletion of their personal information.

Before deleting, it helps to understand what data exists in our system. CafeJobNet only collects data necessary to provide job search, talent matching, and subscription services:

3. Method 1: Instant Self-Service Deletion (Recommended)

If you have an active CafeJobNet account, you can permanently erase your account, resumes, and all associated personal data in seconds without waiting for human review.

4. Method 2: Partial / Granular Data Removal

You do not need to delete your entire account if you only want to remove specific pieces of personal information. You can selectively delete or update individual items:

• Remove Your Resume File: Go to Profile. Under the Resume / CV section, you can upload a new resume or remove the current file. Overwriting or clearing it instantly removes the old resume document from our storage disks.
• Remove Saved Jobs: Go to any saved job or the job search page. Click the active bookmark/saved star icon to immediately remove the position from your saved jobs list.
• Cancel Paid Subscription Without Deleting Profile: Go to Profile > Subscription Details and click Cancel Subscription. Your account will automatically revert to Free membership at the end of the current billing cycle, but your search history and account will remain available for future job hunting.
• Update Name or Email: In Profile, edit your Full Name or Email Address and click Save Changes.

5. Method 3: Manual Email Request (Customer Support)

If you cannot access your account (e.g., lost credentials, deactivated email inbox, or locked account), or if you prefer our compliance team to execute the deletion manually, you can submit an email request.

Verification and Turnaround Time

To safeguard our users from unauthorized or malicious deletion requests, we must verify that you are the legitimate owner of the account before executing an erasure:

1. Upon receiving your request, our support team will send a verification confirmation challenge to the registered account email address.
2. Once you reply or confirm via that link, our data protection pipeline will purge your records within 24 to 72 business hours.
3. You will receive a final confirmation receipt containing a unique Deletion Reference Code for your records.

In compliance with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies, this section provides explicit instructions for users who interact with CafeJobNet applications, integrations, or social login features through Facebook or Meta platforms.

If you authorized CafeJobNet via Facebook or Meta products and wish to delete your data or revoke permissions, follow these steps:

In strict accordance with GDPR Article 17(3) and CCPA § 1798.105(d), certain limited categories of data cannot be immediately erased if retention is mandatory under applicable laws:

• Statutory Accounting & Tax Invoices: If you purchased a CafeJobNet Pro subscription, financial transaction logs (invoice numbers, tax amounts, date, payment amount) must be retained by our payment processor (Stripe) and our accounting records for statutory audit periods (up to 7 years) as required by federal, state, and Puerto Rico tax codes (Hacienda). These records are dissociated from your active profile.
• Security & Fraud Prevention: If an account was terminated for malicious cyber activities, payment fraud, or severe violations of our terms, an irreversible cryptographic hash of the offending identifier may be retained to prevent immediate re-registration and protect platform integrity.
• De-Identified Aggregated Metrics: Non-personal metrics (e.g., "120 total applications submitted to Validation Engineer roles in 2026") are aggregated anonymously and cannot be traced back to any individual.
